About Us

Fox Valley Research & Recovery is a group of individuals dedicated to historical research of our local towns and communities, and the recovery and preservation of relics that tell a tale of a simpler time.  Before the sprawling subdivisions and shopping malls, there were grain mills along the river that blossomed into a town of less than one-hundred families.  Well before Lowes and Home Depot, and True Value and Ace Hardware, there were corner stores and blacksmith shops.  Relics such as old stopper-top bottles, harmonica reeds, tokens, coat buttons, jewelry, cow bells, early century tin toys, crackerjack prizes, 150 year old coins, pocket watches and so much more tell the tale the moment you hold them in your hand.  It is our goal to share with your our travels into neighboring communities, and bring back these stories and treasures.

Fox Valley Research & Recovery was formed by John Walach and Brett Walach, a father and son passionate about their local towns and communities and the history therein.
